Rules, controls, privacy, and card art
Rules: This is four-player American Black Lady. Pass three cards left, right, across, then hold. The 2 of Clubs opens. Follow suit if able. Hearts and the Queen of Spades are forbidden on trick one when a non-penalty discard exists. Only an actual heart breaks hearts. Hearts cannot lead until broken unless only hearts remain. The Queen of Spades stays a spade and can lead after trick one without breaking hearts.
Scoring: Each heart is 1 point and the Queen of Spades is 13. Taking all 26 gives 0 to the shooter and 26 to every opponent. After a full hand, a unique low score wins once any total reaches 100. A low-score tie continues.
Controls: Click or tap a card. During passing, select three and press Pass selected. During play, choose any enabled card; unavailable cards use a dashed edge and subdued face. Drag a passing card to the yellow pass tray or a legal play to the center. With the hand focused, use Left and Right, then Enter or Space. Escape cancels a drag or selection first. Hint highlights one legal choice and Undo restores the previous human decision, including all later computer actions.
Computer players: West, North, and East are local deterministic programs, not people. They use only their own cards, public play, inferred voids, pass knowledge, direction, and scores. Their short action reason is shown. No hidden opposing hand or future deal is inspected.
Card art: The English-pattern court figures derive from Dmitry Fomin's "English pattern playing cards deck" on Wikimedia Commons, released under the CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication. This page locally embeds a cropped, resized, and composited 300 by 560 PNG derivative containing the 12 Jack, Queen, and King frames, with no runtime request. Number cards use conventional Unicode suit pips and layouts.
Privacy and offline use: This game makes no network requests and saves no data. New Game creates a fresh cryptographically shuffled game. Restart repeats the exact current game. Fullscreen keeps gameplay and status visible; the shared page control exits fullscreen.
