Mahjong - Play Online
Play Hong Kong Mahjong online against three bots with standard tile graphics, clear scoring, touch controls, legal hints and fullscreen.
How to play and score
Aim and turn
This is traditional four-player Mahjong, not tile-matching solitaire. Make four sets and a pair, or a supported special hand, worth at least 3 faan. East begins with 14 tiles. On later turns, draw one and discard one. Flowers and Seasons are exposed and replaced from the back of the wall.
Claims
Only the latest discard can be claimed. The next player may Chow a same-suit sequence. Any player may Pung three of a kind, Kong four of a kind, or Mahjong. Mahjong has priority, then Kong or Pung, then Chow. If several players have equal priority, the nearest in turn order wins. A Kong draws a replacement tile. An added Kong may be robbed only for Mahjong.
Controls
- Click or tap a tile, then choose Discard.
- Drag a tile upward to discard it naturally.
- Use Left and Right Arrow to move, Enter or Space to select, and D to discard.
- Hint identifies a legal discard or claim. Undo is available only before an opponent acts.
- Restart restores this exact deal. New Round keeps scores. New Game resets everything.
Declared scoring table
Hong Kong Old Style Clear Chapter, 3-faan minimum, 10-faan cap. Faan to points: 3=8, 4=16, 5=24, 6=32, 7=48, 8=64, 9=96, 10+=128. On self-draw each opponent pays twice the points. On a discard, the discarder pays twice and the other two each pay once.
- 1 each: self-draw, concealed, no bonuses, all Chows, each dragon set, seat or East round wind set, matching Flower or Season.
- 3: all Pungs or half flush. 5: seven pairs or little dragons. 7: pure flush. 8: big dragons.
- 10: little four winds or all honors. 13: thirteen orphans. 15: big four winds. 18: four Kongs. Values stack except dragon and wind supersets replace their component faan.
- All four Flowers or Seasons add 2. All eight bonuses score 8 instead. Scores are play points only.
